Chinese Beef Pan-Fried Dumplings

Golden and crispy on one side and soft as a bun on the other one



Ingredients for 30 dumplings

    Dough

    • 400g wheat flour
    • 20g sugar
    • 5g yeast
    • 22cl water

    Filling

    • 200g ground beef
    • 50g sweet potato noodles
    • 20g celery
    • 50g spring onion
    • 1 tsp grated ginger
    • ½ tsp Chinese five-spice powder
    • ½ tsp Sichuan pepper
    • 1 egg
    • Ground pepper
    • ½ tsp salt
    • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
    • 1 tsp Shaoxing cooking wine
    • 1 tsp sesame oil
    • 8cl water

    Dipping sauce

    • 3 tbsp of light soy sauce
    • 1 tbsp black rice vinegar
    • ½ tsp sugar
    • 2 tsp chili oil

    Cooking (for each batch)

    • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
    • ½ cup water
    • 1 tsp cornstarch
